Serena is a partner at a leading PR firm, but takes Fridays off to be with her twin, two-year-old girls. When she has the chance, she goes to her house in Sagaponack for long weekends with the girls, her husband and their yorkie. They prefer it in the off-season when it’s not too crowded or sceney, when they can play by the fire and take long walks on the beach. When she's in the city on Fridays, she usually takes her girls to art or music classes. It has taken her a long time to find the perfect family/work balance but she’s finally done it. She lives on the Upper West Side, so she’s become an expert on parenting options in her ‘hood. She’s done three home renovations in the city and one at the beach, so she knows who to use and for what. She’s also a dog lover, and has many recommendations for pet care, including dog walkers, doggie spas, camps, groomers, stores, pet psychics, and pet insurance. She loves to travel, especially when it involves skiing and boating, and when it’s family-friendly. One of the reasons she lives in NYC is to give her girls exposure to everything this city has to offer. Unlike some kids who are raised in the ‘burbs, her girls are very adventuresome. For example, when it comes to trying food, instead of begging for tater tots and pizza all the time, they love Greek food, Italian food, and even sushi – so much so that the sushi restaurant across the street just named rolls for each of the twins. Still, she tries to avoid pretension. While she has to keep up on “what’s hot” for work, she wants her girls to develop their own personal tastes, not to follow fads.
