Twin Farms
Romantic, decadent, dreamy weekend escape, with exquisite dining and accomodations amongst the rolling hills and picturesque landscape of Vermont.
Strengths
- Privacy, alone time, peace, quiet, calm. Such fine luxury but not with any attitude or velvet rope "cool."
- Twin Farms is truly about the magic of escape on over one hundred acres of lavish land-hiking trails, serene lakes, rambling roads that don't seem to end, and don't even get me started on what it looks like during foliage season in the late summer/early fall.
- There is a vault of movies, a great library, and all rooms will take you away.
- Roaring fireplaces, the softest of sheets, all designed with every possible detail in mind, from nickel fixtures to museum art. There are cottages - each with its own theme and vibe- which are so divine, you will want to live there.
- A list of activities that goes on and on: hot air ballooning, croquet, BBQs in the summer, horseback riding, tennis, fly fishing, sleigh rides. There's a game room, too.
Shortcomings
- Expensive and hard to get a rezzie.
Insider tips
- A great place to get engaged.
- Splurge for a cottage if you can afford it. But ask to take a tour of any available rooms - you will not believe your eyes.
Anecdotes
- A very affluent couple I know loves this place so much that they hired a designer who worked with the now-late interior designer of Twin Farms, in order to make their Hamptons home look exactly like their favorite cottage.
Perfect for
- Luxe seekers who crave laid back seclusion and the best possible service you can imagine.
